Default You want to fix spirit spamming? Simple.

Signet of Spirit Slaying

Randomly kills 1-3 spirits. Prevents spirits from being created for 5-15 seconds after use. 10 energy, 60 sec recharge time.

With the skills around that affect signets, you all can figure out how to best implement this.

No need to nerf anything. Will require some thought and teamwork to use. Still should allow NR to prevent Heal Balls.

Thoughts?

Funny. I was actually thinking of them restoring Unnatural Signet and having some kind of effect like this now. But I've never fought a spirit spam group (I don't PvP much anymore) so I really don't know.

I'm glad someone is actually thinking of a solution that just whining about it in dozens of threads.

Maybe, but then again the Ranger party I joined last night had no trouble at all beating off a spirit spam group. And I mean they set down tons of the buggers!

They can be beaten, try joining a TS/Vent group and not joining a PUG and you may like the results.

That's a good idea, probably would need some rewording to sound more... "arcane and mystical". Oh, and Signets never cost any Energy.

Yep, and there is the problem, they don't cost energy to use. So it would be more ideal to add a skill FOR RANGERS to use, to counter them. If Rangers can create them, so should be able to get away with it.

And yes bring back something like unnatural signet, lol. That skill was hilariously stupid until the rise of the spirit spammer builds.

How about implementing some skills very similar to shatter hex.

For Monk: Smite spirit

For Necro: Strip Spirit

For mesmer: Shatter spirit

Ok that doesn't look like a good idea :P

Well they didn't bring out a Signet of Spiker slaying so why spirts? Spikers had their time in the limelight and now it's the spirts time to rise!!!! MWAHAHAHAHAHA!

If it's not healed yes. However most spirt spammers spam spirts that aren't a very high level and thus it's usually not dead until it takes quite a few with it.
In my experiance it takes em all. It seems to be deliberatly killed last or it's still in effect until it fully falls into the ground.

Wow, what an original idea! How could I not think of such a thing?

...Please. Don't get smug because you faced an incompetent group of spammers who probably dropped NR while their Monks cast Aegis and Protective Spirits, and then proceeded to drop 6000 copies of Winnowing. Do you really think the people pointing out the imbalances inherent in spirit spam are not playing in TS/Vent groups and are most likely guild teams?

Unbalanced != Unbeatable. Unbalanced = Unbalanced.

I do belive that using them to creat a wall is a dodgy tactic at best but the great thing is (Just like spikers) that they are a one trick pony. Once you get past it they have nothing.

Works for us and you know what's best about it? If you have an edge up when they start expiring on their own (Since they were all palced quickly together) it's a massive spirt edge that is guarented to clear the area. You just gotta hold out for 1 minute or two.

Does Sig of humidity work in the desert areas?

It really is true people. even though they DO alot of damage to teams, there ARE ways to counter them. the most prominent way is experience. you just have to know how to do it. and believe it or not, Spirit groups are not winning the HOH 80% of the time. So what does that say about you people who just can't seem to beat them no matter what? I guess it means your not good enough to beat them? It's all about skill and experience. And if you cant beat that, then i guess you dont deserve to beat it. I do realize that NR is very potent, but there are ways aroun it people. Anet knows about this build sweeping the pvp areas. If it hasn't been nerfed yet, it doesnt need to be nerfed.

AGAIN, THERE IS NO 'SOLUTION' OR 'FIX', BECAUSE ***NOTHING*** IS BROKEN AND THERE IS NO PROBLEM!

And again yesterday, my spirit team was defeated! If you cannot counter or beat the team, it means you aren't good enough at the game!

I don't disagree, but it would shut people up and get them thinking of new builds again. That would be a nice change.
